My Initial Thoughts

Casio SA-76 is a great beginner synthesizer for kids, but it’s also a great option if you are looking for a basic portable keyboard.

It has 44 keys which translates into a range of 3 ½ octaves.

This is quite a limited range, so this is definitely not a keyboard for professional practice.

However, Casio SA-76 makes up for the limited number of keys with a huge selection of tones and rhythms.

Feel, Specifications, Dimensions, and Integrations

When it comes to the selection of tones and voices built into the system, Casio SA-76 will certainly not disappoint you.

There are 100 tones and 50 different rhythms accompanied by 10 practice songs.

This is more than enough to enable you to play whatever you can imagine.

Casio has also managed to fit quite a large number of controls into this little keyboard.

There are five drum pads, a useful button for easy switching between the piano and the organ sound and even an LC display

The display makes it easy to find your way through all of the sounds this synthesizer offers.

The drum pads are actually my favorite part.

Those 5 buttons all produce different percussion sounds which is quite enough for playing around with the rhythm and creating interesting beats.

Kids will love it too and it will serve as a nice intro to digital drum kits.

Advanced Features and Performance

The only thing that might disappoint you is that this keyboard doesn’t come with a power adapter, so if you want to plug it into the wall you’ll need to purchase one separately.

You don’t really need one, however, because this keyboard will keep playing for quite a long time with one set of batteries.

The Casio SA76 piano is one of the smallest freestanding keyboards you can find.

It’s 25 ½ long and only 10 inches wide, so it’s perfect for carrying around.

It can also easily fit into your lap and it can be stored almost anywhere.

This portable synthesizer also has 2 built-in speakers and it’s powered by 6AA batteries, so you won’t need anything else to play with this little wonder.

The piano also comes with a one-year limited manufacturer’s warranty.

Pros & Cons of SA-76

Benefits

Great beginner keyboard for kids

Compact and portable

Comes with a wide range of tone and rhythm options

Easy to control thanks to the LC display

Drawbacks

Doesn’t include a power adapter

The keys don’t feel very realistic

Not very loud, the built-in speakers could definitely be improved

You cannot record what you're playing

My Final Thoughts

Since it’s so small, Casio SA-76 also has smaller keys than a standard piano.

For adults, it will take some time to get used to this, but it shouldn’t be a problem.

On the other hand, the small keys are great for kids.

The controls on this synthesizer are also quite intuitive overall, so even very young kids will have fun playing with it.

This definitely doesn’t mean that this keyboard is useful only for kids.

It’s definitely not a keyboard for piano practice, but it’s great for trying out new tunes and harmonics on-the-go.

Even though they are not the loudest, the built-in speakers will allow you to play literally wherever you are, and there is also a headphone port.

Overall, it’s probably the best portable piano you can get for the price.
